Medical Assistance Eligibility Program

DECO provides on-site staff to screen self-pay patients for eligibility for government entitlement programs or for any potential resource to pay a hospital's claims.

We provide trained on-site staff, who conduct the initial bedside interviews and evaluations of a patient's eligibility for coverage through a variety of possible programs. We use this opportunity to build relationships and nurture trust. At all times there is utmost sensitivity to the difficult circumstances faced by patient and family. Our staff is in an advocacy role for the patients, helping to ease concerns and successfully mitigate an unplanned financial burden.

What follows is our unique brand of thorough and dogged legwork, carried through by the DECO staff of field representatives. Throughout the process of applying for entitlement programs and seeking any other funding sources to pay the facility bills, our representatives escort patients to appointments and physically carry forms, applications, or other paperwork to the appropriate offices. This dedication and persistence with hands-on follow-through extends to advocating on the patient's behalf, if necessary, in appealing denials.

DECOnet™, our proprietary application software, was developed in-house and designed specifically for the processes of eligibility, disability, and Third Party Liability (TPL) management. Built within DECOnet™ is a series of screening questions that, once answered, enables the software suggest which programs the patient may qualify for and lists all of the required supporting documentation for susubmitting the application. DECOnet™ then creates a task list and coordinates, tracks, and reports the wide array of milestones and tasks associated with the Medical Assistance process. DECOnet™ can be tailored to sync with a hospital's reporting system and produces comprehensive monthly reconciliations.

Compassion Is Key

While our focus is working with our hospital partners to clarify performance numbers and maximize eligibility conversions, we never lose sight of the human element. We take special pride in our advocacy role for patients, protecting their dignity and helping them through a difficult period.

We recognize that above all a hospital's relationship with a community as nurturer and healer is paramount. Balancing those concerns along with superior performance in converting zero-pay accounts to badly needed income is what sets us apart.
