We live in a day and age where people expect their personal, sensitive information to stay secure and private. Unfortunately, others may seek to use user data and personal information for their own gain. It’s vital that companies entrusted with private client data are prepared to keep it safe and secure using reliable techniques and compliant frameworks.
Our Commitment to Keeping Your Healthcare Data Secure
The healthcare industry is especially vulnerable to data theft. Every day, healthcare professionals rely on confidential, HIPAA-protected patient information – such as electronic health records (EHRs) – to carry out patient care. Because this information is protected by law and has the potential to be exploited, many healthcare organizations have high security standards.
But that high standard for information security doesn’t end with internal processes. Partner agencies, including eligibility, insurance, and healthcare finance organizations, are equally responsible for protecting patient data.
At DECO, we hold ourselves to the same compliant information security standards as the hospitals we work with. That’s why we invested in a multi-year training and technological support strategy, making DECO among the first in our industry to meet SOC 2 compliance standards.
DECO Achieves SOC 2 Compliance
In 2021, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants awarded DECO an SOC 2 certification – a recognition that ensures high data privacy and confidentiality compliance. SOC 2 certification provides assurances that the security, processing integrity and availability of a client information system has the necessary controls and regulations in place to guarantee a high standard of confidentiality and privacy. Being SOC 2-compliant means that DECO has been rated and approved on more than 140 security criteria. Computing power and digital security measures are adapting every day, but DECO is committed to staying at the forefront of security innovation.
“We pursued this certification to show and prove that we are capable and willing to do whatever it takes to earn our clients’ trust.” – Godlee Davis, DECO’s President and CEO
