Pete Ash currently oversees client services and sales for DECO. Pete has an extensive and successful background in the HealthCare industry that spans more than 25 years. Pete’s expertise encompasses operations management, client relations and development of eligibility policy and procedure. He has successfully managed Medical Assistance eligibility operations in numerous geographies including but not limited to DC, FL, MD, NJ, PA, and VA.
Pete has successfully advocated “on the hill” on behalf of hospitals and is intimately involved with state Health and Human Services departments to ensure effective communication and mutually beneficial working relationship. Pete served for 4 years as Vice President, 4 years as President and 2 years as Chairman of the Board of the National Area Chapter of AAHAM. In addition, he has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Maryland chapter for more than 12 years.
With his affiliations in the other geographical areas, he serves on numerous committees promoting healthcare advocacy. Pete is the conduit between various association in the Mid-Atlantic region bringing speakers and expertise to the varying chapters. In addition, he has taken on the role of mentoring new and young professionals to assist in their success as patient access and revenue cycle professionals
Pete is sought out for his industry knowledge, creativity, guidance, and is known for his straight forward approach, contacts and his inclusiveness. Though not a requirement of his job, Pete took and passed the Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist Institutional exam. Due to this, he has an intimate knowledge of the needs of our client hospitals and the requirement for continued education as the healthcare industry ever changes.
